Overview:
Jimmy is involved in the development and validation of API RBI, the benchmark tool for RBI.
Jimmy was heavily involved in the creation of the APIRBI-PCMS integrated tool and managed the project during phase 2 of implementation. Phase 2 of the implementation involved speed improvements on the calculator and additional user-friendly tools such as importing and summary sheets.
He led the development of Equity Software’s Damage Screening Tool. The Damage Screening tool uses API 571: Damage Mechanisms Affecting Fixed Equipment in the Refining Industry to help identify potential damage mechanisms. Furthermore, the Damage Screening Tool estimates damage susceptibilities for corrosion and cracking susceptibilities based on industry experts’ judgment. As a result, the Damage Screening Tool is a simple and easy-to-use aid to help implementers assign damage for refining and chemical equipment.
Jimmy led the development of a user-friendly version of PRD RBI called PRDWise. PRDWise utilizes all the technology of API 581 but makes conservative assumptions for complex data requirements. This method has made inspection planning easier for implementers.
Jimmy functioned as project manager for risk-based inspection (RBI) implementation and mentoring for the first 7 years with Equity.
Jimmy is an instructor for API 580/581 and API RBI, Equity Software’s proprietary software. He is a highly rated software instructor and has co-taught numerous software courses in the United States, Canada, the Middle East, and Australia. His involvement with the development of both the API 581 methodology and PlantManager™ provides the class with in-depth knowledge of the ongoing research and development within both areas.
